Process Work | This studio was focused on space-making. Before even thinking about designing the actual winery, students were asked to explore "introverted," "extroverted," and "hybrid" spaces in a series of foamcore models.

Process Work | These diagrams were created to analyze possible approaches to the Arista Winery site which would incorporate the ideas developed in the introverted and extroverted space studies.

Process Work | Having an engineering background has driven me to always analyze climatic conditions in my projects. These influences can (and should) have some influence on the architectural form. For instance, this analysis led me to burry the barrel storage portion of the program into the back of the hillside at the site as well as to position the fermentation tanks where they would be shaded from direct sunlight, but exposed to the outside temperature.
